Community Invited to Ludewig's Farewell Toast

Store shares "thank you" message to Teaneck ahead of closing

Ludewig's Hardware will hold a farewell toast Saturday afternoon as the store prepares to shut down after more than 100 years in town.

Owner Merrick Fradkin announced in February that the beloved neighborhood hardware store would close this month.

Fradkin's wife, Michele, shared the following "thank you" message Friday:

On behalf of all us Fradkin's, we have been humbled by everyone’s outpour of gracious and generous expressions of gratitude and appreciation.

I am confident in saying that each day greeting everyone in the Teaneck community has been a pleasure, a learning [experience], and rewarding.  The jokes and laughter have carried into our homes and the stories forever in our hearts!  The family we have in Teaneck will always be, and the memories a keepsake.

Thank you everyone for making this an era of remarkable stance and a foundation of what’s yet to come!  Please stop in Saturday, April 6th, as Ludewig’s says “thank you”; and share in a toast to more than a century of service and community, and a salute to the future!
