Local Bar Named Top Pick for Craft Beer

Magazine has praise for Bogota craft beer bar

Andy's Corner Bar, just over the border on Queen Anne Road in Bogota, has been named one of state's top picks for craft beer by New Jersey Monthly.

"This low-key neighborhood stalwart is a throwback to an earlier time—save for the hip beer selection," the magazine wrote of the local watering hole

Owned by George and Barbara Gray, Andy's offers 10 craft beer taps. The bar traces its routes to Teaneck when the owners of a home brewing store in the township approached Gray about offering craft beer nearby.

"I don't know how to put this without sounding offensive," Gray told Patch in a 2010 interview. "But craft beers draw a more sophisticated crowd, not as much of the young guys who started fights and caused noise violations."

Gray and his wife, Barbara, began traveling to seek out new brews for their bar.

"It's become a passion for me," George Gray said in the interview. "I really enjoy craft beers, and I enjoy the people who come in to drink them."

Although Andy's doesn't serve food, drinkers are welcome to bring their own or get delivery from nearby eateries in Bogota and Teaneck.

The bar was one of 26 across New Jersey cited by New Jersey Monthly

Andy's is located at 257 Queen Anne Road in Bogota. For more information, visit andyscornerbar.blogspot.com or call 201-342-9887.
