New Market Opens in Teaneck

Lt. Governor touts job creation at Cedar Lane grand opening.

A new kosher market on Cedar Lane could bring as many as 85 jobs to the area, Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno said at the store’s grand opening Thursday morning.

Cedar Market, at the site of former Walgreens, promises to offer an “upscale shopping experience” along with low prices, according to the market’s website.

Jeff Hollander, the market’s owner, said he had been "stonewalled" by Public Service Electric and Gas when he needed repairs to be done before opening, NJ.com reported. Faced with mounting delays, he turned to the state’s Business Action Center and got help from Guadagno.

Hollander said he wants the store to become a destination for quality kosher produce, the site reported.

“A strong focus on quality and innovation in product variety, customer service and shopping conveniences will ensure that Cedar Market maintains the highest possible level of consumer approval,” the Market’s website says.
