No Power Outages During Work, Utility Says
Residents will see increased truck traffic, according to company.
Utility on the Teaneck-Bergenfield border will not cause any power outages in the township, according to Public Service Electric and Gas.
Area residents, however, will see more truck traffic related to the project, the company said in a statement. No road closures are planned.
Work to expand the substation will take place along the northern boundary of Meyer Court, between Palisade Avenue and Longview Court. The job site spans both Teaneck and Bergenfield.
“Over the next 12 months, it is anticipated that we will often work extended hours to shorten the project duration and minimize inconveniences as much as possible,” the utility said. “PSE&G will make every effort to complete the work expeditiously, while maintaining the highest levels of quality and safety.”
The project will and is a component in efforts to limit outages in the Teaneck-area, according to company officials.
The work is part of about $3 billion in infrastructure improvements PSE&G is making across the state, the company has said. The substation project would help lessen the power load on other nearby facilities and limit outages to some 80,000 customers.
