Profit, Demand Up at Teaneck Firm

Cognizant announced earnings today.

Glenpointe-based information technology company Cognizant saw its second-quarter profit rise, the company announced Tuesday.

Second-quarter profit rose 21 percent amid higher demand for its services, the Associated Press reported. Revenue went up 34 percent to $1.49 billion from $1.11 billion, the report said.

“We continue to see stronger than anticipated demand for our increasing range of services across the industries we serve. Over this past year, we have seen clients seeking our services not just to drive operational efficiencies, but also to transform their businesses to adapt to next generation technologies and to a new generation of ‘born digital’ workers and consumers,” CEO Francisco D’Souza said in a statement.
