Teaneck Cinemas Opening Pushed Back

New owner plans completely revamped theater on Cedar Lane

Moviegoers hoping to visit Teaneck’s renovated theater will likely have to wait at least another week.

Teaneck Cinemas was set to open Thanksgiving week, but is now expected to start showing films at sometime in early December, according to a message on its Facebook page.

“We have a few button up details taking longer than expected. We will be open in the next week or two though!” a message from the theater posted Tuesday said.

The theater, once called Cedar Lane Cinemas, was closed after the former owner said he couldn’t afford the high cost of upgrading to a digital projection system. New owner Matthew Latten has been working for months to completely overhaul the movie house.
