Teaneck Native's Cookie Dough Company Gets Emmy Nod

Kim Ansh's Fatboy Cookies to be included in Swag Bag at Monday night's News and Documentary Emmy Awards ceremony.

FAIR LAWN -- What would you do if the Emmy Awards called? Buy a gown, book a salon appointment, and get a massage?

If you are Kim Ansh and her husband, Teaneck-native Joel, of Fair Lawn's Fatboy’s Cookie Dough, you start to bake the cookies.

The Fatboy Cookie Company, located at 18-01 River Road, was contacted by Off The Wall Gifts to be included in gift bags distributed to attendees at the 32nd Annual News and Documentary Emmy Awards taking place Monday night in Manhattan.

“I thought it was a scam when I saw the email but when I investigated the company on the internet I learned this was legitimate,” joked Kim Ansh, who grew up in Seaford and now resides in Franklin Lakes.

Fatboy’s is pre-cut frozen cookie dough packaged for convenient fresh baked cookies. For the occasion of the Emmy Awards, more than 3,200 cookies were baked for inclusion in the swag bags. Nominees such as Diane Sawyer, Katie Couric and Brian Williams will have the chance to munch on Fatboy’s Chocolate Chunk cookies as they wait their turn in the spotlight.

Ansh and her husband worked around the clock to assemble 800 bags of their cookies for inclusion in the official Emmy’s gift tote. All attendees to the awards ceremony will receive the gift tote.

“We have had eight days to create a package, bake the cookies and assemble the cookie bags.” said Ansh. “My children along with my parents from Seaford offered to help us meet the deadline.  It has been a fun family affair."

According to Val Wilson, owner of Off The Wall Gifts, the company selects smaller businesses and new brands to showcase in the Emmy bags. Fatboy Cookies will be one of 35 products to be included in this year’s Emmy gift bag

“I am hoping we can create the “Oprah Effect” on showcasing their products to influencers,” Wilson said.
