Teaneck Firefighters Rescue Motorist From Route 4 Wreck

Teaneck firefighters extricated a man from a mangled car after a single-vehicle crash on Route 4 east Saturday morning. 

A major drug store chain could open at the recently closed Louie’s Charcoal Pit on Cedar Lane and two other adjoining properties, according to town officials. 

A month-long investigation has led to the arrest of three Teaneck men in the November gunpoint robbery of a Lodi gas station, the prosecutor’s office announced today.

A Teaneck frozen yogurt shop announced Tuesday night that it would close this month, the latest Cedar Lane merchant to shut down in recent weeks. 

The long-awaited insect-themed museum and entertainment center on Windsor Road will open to the public Saturday. 

The center, called World of Wings, is set to include insect exhibits and a live butterfly atrium, project representatives have said at zoning board hearings. The public will get its first chance to visit the new town attraction at 11 a.m. Saturday, according to an announcement made Tuesday.

Louie's Charcoal Pit in Teaneck, a diner that served customers on Cedar Lane for decades, closed “indefinitely” Sunday night.

Public Service Electric and Gas plans to temporarily shut down power in sections of Teaneck Saturday to conduct “major improvements” on the area’s electricity supply, according to a statement issued by the township Monday. 

A 19-year-old Bogota man faces charges he struck a police officer after he was caught fleeing a jewelry store robbery on Cedar Lane Wednesday, authorities said. 

Two men accused in a Teaneck robbery are among five members of a violent street gang charged in connection with similar crimes across Bergen and Passaic counties, the prosecutor's office said Monday.
