Federal agents arrested men from Teaneck and Fort Lee Tuesday in a takedown of Russian organized crime that included high-stakes poker games involving celebrities, professional athletes and Wall Street moguls, according to court papers and authorities. 

Family Seeks Repeal of Chicken Ban in Teaneck

A township family is hoping to have Teaneck's ban on raising backyard chickens repealed. 

Ita Barak and her son, Yoni, recently made their case to allow residents to raise the birds at a township council meeting. Sustainability and a steady supply of healthy food were some of the reasons cited to allow the birds in Teaneck backyards.

A woman from Fort Lee and her 4-year-old son escaped injury after the car she was driving careened off an I-95 ramp in Teaneck, leaving it partially submerged in a marshy area, state police said.
