Pharmacy Could Replace Louie’s in Teaneck

A major drug store chain could open at the recently closed Louie’s Charcoal Pit on Cedar Lane and two other adjoining properties, according to town officials. 

Councilman Yitz Stern told Patch an unnamed pharmacy chain had filed an application with the town’s zoning board to build a store at the Louie’s site, an adjacent storefront and the nextdoor gas station at Cedar Lane and Elm Avenue.

Queens Man Acquitted in Teaneck Double Murder

A Bergen County jury on Thursday acquitted a Queens man on charges he killed two men on a street in Teaneck, but convicted him on drug distribution conspiracy and hindering apprehension charges, northjersey.com reported. 

Prosecutors alleged Nicholas Kiriakakis, a 27-year-old nightclub owner, . The three were allegedly involved in a deal to buy drugs using counterfeit money.

Sanzari's Restaurant Expansion Approved

The Zoning Board reaffirmed its approval ofvariances sought by Sanzari's New Bridge Inn Tuesday, adding certain conditions.

In October, the Zoning Board granted variance approval to Sanzari's New Bridge Inn to expand the restaurant and knock down two residential houses to make room for a new parking lot, only to suspend it a month later citing that the restaurant "misrepresented" the total number of seats.
