A residential street near the Bergenfield border will be closed for more than a month while PSEG installs manholes and underground conduits as part of an effort to upgrade the area's electricity network, the company said.
Meyer Court will be blocked between Longview Court and Palisade Avenue starting around Feb. 8 through March 31, according to PSEG. The mostly unpaved street is between homes and a utility substation spanning Teaneck and Bergenfield.
Construction is expected to run Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., PSEG said. Work will also take place on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The company could also seek permission to work on Sundays.

PSEG has started work to expand the substation's energy capacity in a project it said will increase the reliability of the approximately 50-year-old facility. The substation serves about 82,000 customers from Teaneck to Leonia.
Company officials have said the work is not expected to cause major traffic delays and have pledged to plant new trees near the substation when work is finished.

PSEG has said it plans to finish work on the Teaneck-Bergenfield substation by June 2013.
Upgrades are planned on substations around the area as part of $3.5 billion in infrastructure improvements PSEG announced it would make across the state.
