District 37: Weinberg Rolls in Senate; Huttle, Johnson Re-elected to Assembly

District 37 New Jersey Senate Race

New Jersey Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg was re-elected, according to unofficial results from the Bergen County Clerk’s office.

With more than 95 percent of District 37 precincts reporting, the Democrat was sprinting ahead of Republican challenger Paul Duggan by nearly 15,000 votes.

Weinberg, 78, has served in the senate since 2005; she serves on the Joint Budget Oversight, Budget and Appropriations, Judiciary, Legislative Services committees. 

She had served in the assembly prior.

District 37 New Jersey Assembly Race

With more than 95 percent of precincts reporting, voters in District 37 re-elected New Jersey Assembly incumbent Democrats Valerie Vainieri Huttle and Gordon Johnson.

Huttle, 57, a former Bergen County Freeholder, has served in the New Jersey Assembly since 2006. 

Johnson, 62, has represented the 37th District in the assembly since 2002, and served on the Budget, Judiciary, Regulated Professions committees.

The incumbents defeated Republicans Gino Tessaro and Dierdre Paul.
