60 Years of Ethical Culture: A Time to Remember, a Time to Celebrate

In the 60 years since its founding, the Ethical Culture Society of Bergen County has made a disproportionate contribution to the larger community. From helping to integrate the Teaneck schools to working for peace, human rights and civil rights, to giving sanctuary to refugees and helping to shelter the homeless as well as helping to end gun violence and innumerable other causes, the Society sought justice in an unjust world. But the Society has also been a community, a community where learning and growth take place and where its members find mutual support. We have accomplished this all within the context of humanistic values. This address by Leader Joseph Chuman will look back at our first 60 years and at the people our Society needs to remember and honor.
