Bach Choral Vespers - "Now Thank We All Our God"

Grace Lutheran Church

12th Semi-Annual Bach Vespers Service on Nov. 24th

Grace Lutheran Church, 1200 River Road, Teaneck, will present Johann Sebastian Bach's Cantata No. 192 Nun danket alle Gott
(Now Thank We All Our God) Sunday, November 24, at 4 p.m. in a service of Choral Vespers.

The Cantata is based on the familiar Thanksgiving hymn of
the same name.  The first movement is a jubilant song of praise to God for his protection,
care and guidance throughout our lives.  The third movement is a rollicking gigue.  Written in a lively
contrapuntal style, both feature the chorale tune sounding prominently.  The middle
movement, a lovely elegant duet, almost Mozartian in character, will be
sung by soloists Deborah Holden-Holloway, soprano, and Robert Prowse,

baritone.

Participating musicians from the area include violinists Lisa
Steinberg of Norwood and Gabriel Schaff of Harrington Park;  violist
Louis Day of Paramus; flutists Marcia Hankle of Teaneck and Reva
Youngstein of River Edge; and oboists Sarah Davol of Teaneck and Marsha
Heller of Leonia.  Teaneck organist Peter Calabro will play Bach's
famous Fugue a la Gigue, BWV 577, as the Postlude.  Grace's Cantor,

Carol Weber will direct the Choir and Orchestra.

All are invited to stay for a light dessert
following the service.  A freewill offering to support Bach Vespers will
be appreciated.

Grace Lutheran Church is located at 1200 River
Road, Teaneck, north of Route 4 from the River Road exit.   Directions
are available at www.GraceLutheranTeaneck.org.
