Canoe and Kayak Trip at Overpeck Park

Canoe/Kayak Trip with
the Hackensack Riverkeeper in Overpeck Park Kayak Center, sponsored by the
Friends of the Greenway. Canoes, tandem kayaks and single kayaks are
available. Those with their own boats
are welcome to bring them and launch free of charge. This is a group paddle on the impounded,
non-tidal waters of Overpeck Creek.
Paddlers will be outfitted and given a basic lesson in paddling
techniques before launching. Age restrictions: Children ages 5-8 can tide free
(maximum of 2) in a canoe with 2 adult paddlers; Children ages 8-12 can paddle
a canoe or tandem kayak with an adult in the rear seat; Children ages 12 and up
can paddle a single kayak with close adult supervision. The fee is $15 per paddler. There are a limited number of boats
available.
