Elie Lichtschein is a writer and musician based in New York. His most recent musical project, Celebrate Hallel, aims to raise the profile of Rosh Chodesh (the Jewish new month) through a monthly musical gathering in which the age-old prayer is set to original, upbeat melodies. He likes to think of its musical styling as the melodic marriage between Bob Dylan and Rebbe Nachman of Breslov. As for his non Hallel musical endeavors, he is currently at work on his debut album, a collection of Jewish-tinted, mysti-folk songs. He is concurrently pursuing an MFA degree in Creative Writing from the New School.
Elie will be performing selections from Celebrate Hallel as well as other original songs.
