FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: "PULSE/IMPULSE" Art Exhibition

The Gallery of the High Mountain Presbyterian Church, 730 Franklin Lake Road, Franklin Lakes, New Jersey is pleased to present "PULSE/IMPULSE", a major exhibition devoted to the artwork of the "Painting Affiliates" of Northern New Jersey. This exhibition, curated by Pauline Chernichaw, opens Wednesday, August 28th. The show will run through September 29th, 2013 with a reception to meet the artists on Sunday, September 8th, from 3-5pm. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00-3pm, Saturday by appointment and Sunday until 2pm.
The exhibition "PULSE/IMPULSE" includes the following artists: Marlene Bremer, Anne Winston Brown, Pauline Chernichaw, Sandra Frech, Dail Fried, Harriet Goldstein, Myra Grosinger, Alice Harrison, Naomi Kahan, Olivia Koopalethes, Bernice Leibowitz, Renee Lerner, Renee McCormick, Ruth Bauer Neustadter, Lois Schachter, Herrat Sommerhoff, Ellen Reinkraut, Paula Schiller, Lou Spina, Alice Stoler and Sol Zaretsky.
Taking its title from the pulse and impulsiveness of the current art world, "PULSE/IMPULSE" features a diverse and visually evocative exhibition. The show celebrates a cross section of contemporary painting, ranging from figurative to abstract art.
Pauline Chernichaw's bold and impassioned painting "Seagulls" with its pulsating interplay of erratic color, line and movement symbolizes her nonreresentational rendering of the flight of birds. Pauline's work integrates nature's blueprint with the human footprint.
Lou Spina's "The Phone Call" is a sublime vision of how life on the planet has changed.
Sandra Frech's beautiful, color felt "Sedona Series" is inspired by nature's change of seasons, colors, lines and textures.
Marlene Bremer's abstract, expressionistic "Orange and Yellow" painting arouses the viewer's feelings towards both the beauty and fury of nature.
Bernice Leibowitz' expressive, jazz inspired painting "Concerto in Lavender" echoes the energy of music, while Renee McCormick's "Symphonie" vibrates with a rhythmic blend of color.
Each of the participating artists draws inspiration from their shared visual environment, revealing a passionate exploration of the formal possibilities of "PAINT".
