Residents looking to safely dispose of unused or expired medications can drop off the drugs at Teaneck Police Headquarters Saturday and Sunday as part of a national effort to combat prescription drug abuse.
Drugs will be collected at the township police station from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days, according to the department. The Drug Enforcement Administration-led program is free and anonymous.
“Americans participating in DEA’s six previous Take-Back Days turned in nearly 2.8 million pounds—almost 1,409 tons—of prescription drugs,” the DEA said.
Anyone with questions about the Teaneck drug collection can call Officer Eddie Hahn or Officer Daniel Garcia at 201-837-2573. Police headquarters is located at 900 Teaneck Road.
A full list of participating take back locations around the area can be found at DEA.gov.
