Teaneck-Englewood NANBPWC Celebrates Fifty Years

The Teaneck-Englewood and Vicinity Club of The National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Clubs, Inc. has started off the 2014 New Year with giving. The club is in the middle of its “50 Reasons to Give” Initiative in celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of its founding in 1963.

The Teaneck-Englewood and Vicinity Club began its “Fifty Reasons to Give” initiative in November by collecting and donating new and gently used coats to area shelters, the Bergen Family Center and the Women’s Rights Information Center. In January, club members donated 50 or more $10 supermarket gift cards to be distributed to area food pantries. Additionally, the members are assisting in End Hunger initiatives by participating in assembly lines to package 40,000 meals for families in our area.

Some club members will be giving up the pounds in “Crush the Pounds / 2.5 percent Challenge Weight Loss Program from January through April 7, 2014. Five member teams will compete against other community groups and area clubs. The joining fee is $25. In February, the Teaneck-Englewood Club will assemble and donate Valentine Senior Goodies Packs for senior clients of the Bergen Family Center.
