Teaneck’s Tamba Hali Leaves $1,000 Tip After Kansas City Chiefs Win

Former Teaneck High School star turned Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Tamba Hali likely has some fans among the staff at a Kansas City restaurant after he dropped a $1,000 tip at a recent dinner, according to a local TV station.

Hali racked up a more than $1,800 tap dining with about 15 friends and family at Fogo de Chao after the Chiefs win over Houston Texans, KCTV reported. The restuarant automatically added an almost $300 gratuity, but that didn’t stop Hali from writing in another $1,000 tip.

Waiter Joshua Roan told NewsNet5.com that Hali is a regular at the high-end eatery, but never causes a fuss.

"He doesn't really have any special requests, just as long as the kids are fed first," Roan told the station.

Roan didn’t notice the generous tip until later that night, according to the report.

“I thought it was a typo, and then I saw the signature and it was clear as day, and I was like ok, well, that is very nice,” the waiter said.
