Thanked By Teaneck Council

There are so many people who willingly give back to the community. The Teaneck Township Council gives thanks.

The Teaneck Township Council on behalf of its residents and municipal employees, hosted a Volunteer Appreciation Night to thank the volunteers who have given their time and effort to help build a better Teaneck. The gathering took place on May 21, 2013 at 7:00pm in the Teaneck High School Auditorium.  There was a coffee and cake reception afterwards where I had the opportunity to meet many of the other volunteer groups like Helping Hands Food PantryTeaneck Fair Trade and others.

As a volunteer board member of the Teaneck Chamber of Commerce and member of the Teaneck Rotary Club, I was honored to be thanked twice by the township council.   However, the highlight of my evening was seeing so many other volunteer organizations that I did not know existed in Teaneck.  It is a great feeling to know that there are so many other people who willingly give back to the community.  Janice Preschel, Director of Helping Hands Food Pantry, was among the volunteers being thanked by council and pointed out to me that there were many generations of volunteers represented.

Thanks to members of the Teaneck Council for the honor: Mayor Mohammed Hameeduddin, Deputy Mayor Adam Gussen, Council Member Elie Y. Katz, Council Member Mark J. Schwartz,  Council Member Lizette P. Parker, Council Member Henry J. Pruitt and Council Member Yitz Stern.
