Some's Uniforms Owner Remembered As Caring Mentor

The following was submitted by the Hackensack Upper Main Alliance after the passing of Some's Uniforms founder and owner Jerome S. Some

The passing of Jerry Some has shocked and saddened all of us. Jerry was an integral part of everything we are trying to accomplish in Hackensack. He was true supporter of the downtown and so much more. He understood the value of teamwork and what it means to work together for a common goal. He was a tireless supporter of the business district and those who made their living in the downtown.

Jerry was always in the corner of those less fortunate. While others talked of helping the homeless, Jerry steadfastly gave his time and talent to their cause. He never missed an "outreach" meeting and was always first to step up with large donations of clothing, gear and apparel. He also donated something far more important,- jobs. Through a county program designed to help people re-enter the workforce, Jerry hired individuals who needed help. He did this silently and from the heart.

I cannot express in words the sense of loss I feel at his passing. He was a friend and mentor and someone that could be depended on when the chips were down. All of Hackensack salutes this man who has done so much for so many. For his wife Diane and his family, our prayers and thoughts will be with you now and in the days ahead. Those of us in the Main Street Alliance of which he was so proud to be a member, and all others he has touched with his life, remain in his gratitude and salute his life.
