Cops: Teaneck Man Selling Oxy, Weed Out of Argonne Court Home

Cops say they found two handguns, oxycodone, marijuana, crack cocaine and bogus cash in Clarence Childress's home.

A Teaneck man arrested Friday on suspicion of selling oxycodone and marijuana out of his residence was found with drugs, weapons and cash, according to Teaneck police.

Clarence Javon Childress, 20, of Argonne Court, was arrested after police executed a search warrant on his home Friday. 

Cops said they found a semi-automatic .380 caliber handgun, a muzzle loading .45 caliber handgun, ammunition, a speed loader for a handgun, suspected marijuana, suspected crack cocaine, suspected oxycodone pills, three digital scales, $833 in cash believed to be proceeds from drug sales and counterfeit currency.

Teaneck police received complaints of suspected drug sales and conducted an investigation which led to the arrest, according to Acting Chief of Police Robert A. Carney.

Childress faces a charges of weapons possession, money laundering, and several drug distribution charges, according to police.

Bergen County Superior Court Judge Mary Thurber set bail on Childress for the weapons offenses at $150,000. Childress was sent to the Bergen County Jail pending an initial appearance in Teaneck Municipal Court Wednesday morning.
