Englewood Cops ID Woman Believed To Be ‘Probable Bank Robber’

Englewood Police say that the woman had "psychological issues" and no intentions of robbing the bank.

Calls from local citizens helped police find the suspicious woman who walked into an Englewood PNC Bank on Monday wearing a ski mask and skinny jeans, which led authorities to say that she never posed a threat.

As a result of media coverage concerning the suspicious incident, Englewood detectives said they received several calls from “concerned citizens” Thursday evening and Friday morning regarding the identity of the woman shown in the photo obtained from surveillance footage at the bank.

At approximately 2:30 p.m. Friday, police located the woman, who works as a temp in a local business in Englewood.

The entire outfit she was seen wearing in surveillance stills was recovered, including the mask, gloves and skinny jeans, cops said Friday.

Detectives interviewed the woman and determined she had “psychological issues and in no way had any intent [of] robbing banks,” according to Englewood Detective Captain Timothy Torell.

She was taken to an area hospital for a mental evaluation and there were no criminal charges filed.

“We appreciate the help from the community in identifying this woman,” Torell said. “Hopefully this will assist her in obtaining the services she needs.

“PNC was notified and the staff there was relieved to find out that their safety was never at risk.”
