Arrest Made in Teaneck Hit-and-Run Crash

Firefighters cut man from wrecked car, authorities say.

A New York man was arrested Tuesday afternoon, shortly after he took off from a crash that left another man hospitalized, according to police.

The 21-year-old motorist, whose name was not immediately released, will be charged with leaving the scene of an accident with injury, authorities said. Officers found him in Englewood following the two car crash at Teaneck Road and Westervelt Place.

Firefighters had to cut the other driver, a 48-year-old man, from his wrecked car, police said. The Teaneck Volunteer Ambulance Corps brought him to Hackensack University Medical Center, but the extent of his injuries were not immediately known.
