Paterson Man Accused of Spying on Women in FDU Bathrooms

Arrest came after three alleged incidents in Hackensack, police say.

Hackensack police have charged a 38-year-old Paterson man with sneaking into bathrooms at Fairleigh Dickinson University to spy on women.

Charles Thomas was seen by women at an unnamed classroom building in Hackensack on Aug. 10, 24 and Sept. 6., city police told NJ.com.

In the first incident, a women washing out a coffee cup reportedly saw Thomas before he fled, the site reported. Two other times, women allegedly saw him peering into stalls while they were inside, police said.

The first woman to encounter Thomas followed him and relayed a description of his car to FDU public safety officials, who located the vehicle and passed his license plate to city police, according to the report.

Thomas was being Saturday at the Bergen County Jail on invasion of privacy and burglary charges, according to jail records. His bail was set at $25,000 with no 10 percent option.
