Photos Released of Fake FBI Agents Robbing Route 17 Jewelry Store

Ramsey Police are asking for the public's help in identifying the thieves.

The Ramsey Police are asking for help in identifying two people who held up a borough jewelry store at gunpoint, zip tied the employees, and made off with an undetermined amount of jewelry from the store’s safe and display cases.

Police Chief Bryan Gurney has released a string of security photos of two people he says were seen inside Aydin Jewelers Monday.

In the photos, the two men in the store can be seen wearing surgical masks and hats. One is wearing a suit, and the other a blue jumpsuit.

The two entered Aydin on Route 17 South pretending to be FBI agents, zip tied three employees, and made off with jewelry and cash, Gurney said.

Gurney said police are also looking into two people witnesses say ran past the thieves right before the entered the jewelry store. Those two have been described as a woman carrying a black purse, blue jeans and dark jacket, and a man wearing a dark coat, khaki pants and a wool hat, police said.

Anyone with any information regarding this crime is asked to contact the Ramsey Police Department at 201-327-2400.
