Police: Man Beaten, Robbed After Teaneck Woman Lures Him With Sex

Englewood man hospitalized with swollen skull, broken jaw following robbery

A 56-year-old Englewood man was severely beaten by a teenage assailant when he went to meet a Teaneck woman who lured him with sex in a set up at her West Tryon Avenue apartment building, police said Friday.

Police found the woman, 21-year-old Latice Wilson, after she locked herself out of her apartment and left her two-year-old son inside, said Teaneck Anti-Crime Unit Detective Ed Kazmierczak, who investigated the brutal attack.

The victim told police he arranged to pay Wilson for sex and was led around the back of her apartment, near Teaneck Road, when he was beaten and stomped by an attacker in a ski-mask around midnight Wednesday, Kazmierczak said. Officers found the man covered in blood after first responding to a call about the baby’s cries.

The assailant stole about $150, credit cards and a wallet, according to police.

After interviewing Wilson, Kazmierczak said he was able to identify the attacker as her 17-year-old friend from Englewood. She told police the plan was just to take the man’s money with the teen along as muscle, the detective added.

The attack left the victim with a swollen skull, broken jaw, dislocated arm and loosened teeth, Kazmierczak said. He was scheduled for surgery at an area hospital Friday, but expected to survive.

Wilson was being held at the Bergen County Jail on $350,000 bail on a slew of charges including conspiracy to commit robbery, child endangerment, robbery by force, aggravated assault and loitering for the purpose of engaging in prostitution.

Her two-year-old was being cared for by relatives and police said state child welfare authorities were alerted.

Delinquency complaints were filed against the teen, who was held at the county’s Juvenile Detention Center in Teterboro.
