Storm Leads to Detours, Power Outages in Teaneck

A busy bus route in Teaneck has been detoured after a downed tree forced police to block a section of Teaneck Road during the Monday evening rush, according to officials.


Police also reported a power outage in the southeastern section of Teaneck around 5:30 p.m., with repairs possibly lasting until midnight.


NJ Transit said the 167 bus was being re-routed from Teaneck Road to Queen Anne Road as of 5:15 p.m. Monday.

Teaneck Road was closed between Fycke Lane and Degraw Avenue, according to a police department online alert. Motorists were asked to avoid the area for the “several hours.”


Bus service to and from the Port Authority Bus Terminal was delayed up to an hour by weather, NJ Transit reported on its Twitter account.
