Teaneck High School Pranksters Receive Court Dates

63 students who allegedly broke into the school for a destructive prank in May were allowed to graduate last month, report says.

The 63 students who made national headlines for breaking into Teaneck High School for a senior prank in May will be in court this summer, NorthJersey.com reported.

According to the report, the students have received dates to appear in municipal court individually over the next several Wednesdays in July and August to answer charges from the incident, the report said. Last month, the Bergen County Prosecutor downgraded the charges filed against the students to disorderly persons charges.

According to the report, the school has denied to divulge the punishments it doled out to students, but families have said they included a four-day suspension and a revocation of some senior privileges, but not senior prom. Seniors also needed to complete 20 hours of community service before they were allowed to graduate last week, the report said.
