Teaneck Man Accused of Having Sexual Contact With Eighth-Grader

Robert L. Colasuono has been suspended as a Bogota health and physical education teacher since last June.

A Bogota teacher who lives in Teaneck has been accused of having sexual contact with an eighth-grader.

Robert L. Colasuono, 39, has been charged with aggravated criminal sexual contact and has been remanded to the Bergen County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 bail with no 10 percent option.

Colasuono, a health and physical education teacher at Bogota Junior-Senior High School since 2005, has been suspended with pay since the accusation surfaced last June, according to NJ.com.

According to Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli, the incident occurred in 2009 when the girl was 13 years old and attended the Bogota school district. The girl, now 18, told a friend but never reported the incident to school officials or authorities until recently, Molinelli said.

Colasuono, who is scheduled to be arraigned Monday, has been ordered to have no contact with the victim.
