Teaneck Man Accused of Sexual Assault in Englewood

Girl, 12, allegedly abused and police officer assaulted

A 20-year-old Teaneck man has been charged with sexually assaulting a girl he met at an Englewood park and attacking a city police officer, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office said Tuesday.

Savon A. Dow allegedly assaulted the 12-year-old girl, who authorities described as an acquaintance, Sunday.

The girl first reported the alleged abuse to staff at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, where Dow brought her to be treated for an asthma attack, First Assistant Prosecutor John L. Higgins said in a statement. Hospital staffers alerted police.
