Teaneck Man Indicted in Englewood Knife Attack

An alleged pimp from Teaneck is accused in the Englewood stabbing, reports say.

An alleged pimp from Teaneck has been indicted on charges he stabbed a man in Englewood in a case of mistaken identity, northjersey.com reported Tuesday.

Joan M. Rincon, 32, allegedly broke into an apartment on Tenafly Road July 15 and was screaming "where is my sister?"

The 35-year-old victim's wife and three young children were home during the violent attack, according to an NJ.com report. An investigation found that another tenant in the building had a prostitute at his apartment and had argued with her earlier.

Police believe the prostitute called Rincon and told him she was being held against her will at the building, the report said. Rincon allegedly mistook the victim for the man with the prostitute.

Rincon's defense attorney argued his client was not a pimp and the incident stemmed from a "misunderstanding," according to the report.
