Ex-Teaneck Councilwoman Vying for Freeholder Seat

Five Democrats seeking party line

Former town council member Monica Honis is one of five Democrats vying for the party nomination to run for three Bergen County freeholder seats, the Record reported.

Honis, a teacher, lost her bid for a third term on the council in May. At the time, her council colleagues credited her with taking on a range of community service initiatives.

The other Democrats seeking the party's line are:

  • Jim Tedesco, a former mayor of Paramus.
  • Christopher Tully, a councilman in Bergenfield.
  • Lorraine Waldes, River Vale School Board President.
  • Robert Kovic, a former Ridgefield councilman.

The three selections will face Freeholders John Felice, John Mitchell and Maura DeNicola.
