Letter: Grant Awarded For Brooks Park Fitness Center Upgrade

The following is a letter to the editor submitted by Councilman Yitz Stern:

As part of Bergen County’s Open Space Trust Fund Municipal Program, the County Freeholder Board recently granted final approval to a $9,100 matching grant award for the improvement of the Bernard Brooks Park Fitness Center.

This project includes the installation of several new pieces of exercise & fitness equipment as well as a safety surface and perimeter. These funds will be obtained from the County’s Open Space, Recreation, Farmland and Historic Preservation Trust Fund.

I have the privilege of serving on the County Trust Fund’s Public Advisory Committee, which is charged with determining the annual list of projects to be recommended for funding and the amount to be awarded for each project. I would like to take this opportunity to thank my fellow Committee members for their support and recommendation of this grant.
