Board of Education Recognizes Teaneck HS Students for Good Deeds

Students turn in valuables

Two students were recognized by the Board of Education after turning in cash and checks they found.

Christopher Garlington, a Teaneck senior, was walking home from school when he found an envelope containing cash and checks misplaced by a township resident, said Teaneck High School Principal Dennis Heck. Garlington brought the envelope to school so the owner could be contacted.

Another student, junior Sharice McKoy, found $220 in a girls’ bathroom and turned in the money so it could be returned to another student.

McKoy and Garlington received a Teaneck Public Schools Apple Pin in recognition for being good Samaritans, Heck said.

Nice to see the students doing positive things. I wonder how many comments this will get. I notice some people tend to pay a lot of attention to the negatives when it comes to the students. #justanobservation

Awesome. Some people love to knock the youth in our town and our town's schools. This is a great example of the quality and morals that our commnnity and schools are teaching our youth. Great job!!!
