The following news release was submitted by the League of Women Voters of Teaneck:

The League of Women Voters of Teaneck and Teaneck Council of Parents and Teachers has scheduled a Candidates’ Forum for the upcoming Board of Education election, to take place on Monday, October 15th starting at 7:30 p.m. in the 3rd Floor Student Center of Teaneck High School. The general election will be held on Tuesday, November 6th, with voting hours from 6 a.m. - 8 p.m.

Handicapped access is available via the elevator by the courtyard parking lot off Elizabeth Street.  For more information, call Shirley Sosland at 201-692-0238 or Barbara Ostroth at 201-692-1494.

Teaneck Board of Education voted to move their Board of Education elections to November without having the annual budget be on the ballot. WHY? Why can't the voters vote on school budget? Is this what democracy is about?
