Structural Problems Prompt Closure of Bogota, Hackensack Bridge

The 113-year-old Midtown Bridge linking Bogota and Hackensack is expected to remain closed for at least 10 days after officials discovered structural deterioration, NorthJersey.com reported.

The bridge was set for replacement, but the project was put on hold when an inspection revealed major structural issues with the Cedar Lane bridge, Bogota Council President Tito Jackson said in the report. Officials have since detoured buses from the Teaneck-Hackensack crossing and closed lanes.

It was not immediately clear how long the Bogota crossing would be closed, but it was likely to increase traffic on other nearby Hackensack River crossings.
