Water Main Break Impacts 100 in Teaneck, Prompts Cancellations at FDU

A water main break in Teaneck forced crews to shut down service to 100 customers along River Road, including the Fairleigh Dickinson University campus, officials said.

All classes and activities at FDU’s Teaneck campus scheduled after 4 p.m. were canceled, the University announced on its Twitter account Tuesday. There was no water at the campus and students in dorms were moved to FDU buildings in Hackensack.

United Water spokesman Steve Goudsmith said repairs were expected to last until Wednesday morning. A contractor struck the 30 inch water main near River Road and Maple Street early Tuesday afternoon, officials said.
