Teaneck Rotary Welcomes New Members

The following announcement was submitted by the Teaneck Rotary Club: 

On Wednesday, August 14th, Past District Governor William Rupp, of Rotary District 7490,  officiated at the installation ceremony of the Rotary Club of Teaneck. Before inducting the two newest "official" members to the club, club member Larry Bauer was installed as the club's Vice-President. As Vice President it would be his duty of to preside at meetings of the club and the board in the absence of the president and to perform other duties as ordinarily pertain to the office of vice-president. He is not the successor to the President, that is the President Elect. Mr. Bauer will also be the official club historian. When not involved with Rotary, Mr. Bauer is president of the Teaneck Chamber of Commerce and is owner of Bauer Printing Company. The next to be installed were Danielle Richards and Gary Salomon. At this portion of the installation ceremony, PDG Rupp provided an excellent overview of the work that Rotary has done locally as well as internationally and how his involvement with Rotary had changed his life. Culminating the installation ceremony was the pinning of Ms. Richards and Mr. Salomon with the official Rotary pin.

Ms. Richards is owner of Danielle Richards Photography. She has been a photojournalist for over 20 years including assignments from Papal visits and presidential campaigns to major sporting events and local community coverage. her passion is documentary work. She was twice  honored as the recipient of the Gordon Parks Award for documentary photography, her work featured in national and international publications, is a life member and past president of New Jersey Press Photographers, and a member of PPA

Garry Salomon and his firm Davis, Saperstein & Salomon PC have been long time supporters of various Teaneck Rotary events. Finally becoming a member completes the circle. Davis, Saperstein & Salomon PC, based on Cedar Lane in Teaneck, are personal injury attorneys providing compassionate and skilled legal help to people injured by the negligence of others. Not only is Mr. Salomon now an official member of the Rotary Club of Teaneck, Mr. Salomon is also a member of the board of the Teaneck Chamber of Commerce. His firm has been involved in numerous events in Teaneck from the handing out of bicycle helmets on Cedar Lane at Memorial Day to being an official sponsor of National Night Out.

Following the installation ceremony, club member Helen Nylander, gave a presentation regarding a joint project that the Rotary Club of Teaneck will be undertaking with the Rotary Club of Freetown in Sierra Leon where she is also a member. As an ambassador of both clubs, she has spearheaded a project that will provide, install and maintain the school's solar-panel project to provide lighting for a girl's boarding school, The Hannah Benka-Coker Memorial Home.
