TVAC Memorial Blood Drive


The Teaneck Volunteer Ambulance Corps will honor the memory of three members with an annual blood drive Monday.


The event will run from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 855 Windsor Road, the TVAC headquarters. TVAC is holding the blood-drive in honor of Police Capt. Walter Pinches, Bill Shambroom and Rabbi Stanley Fisch.

Annual Health Fair

Teaneck will hold its 32nd annual health fair Friday at the Richard Rodda Community Center from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.


The event will include blood pressure screenings, massage therapy, lung function testing and more health tests. Two “mini-lectures” are also scheduled titled “All About Adult Vaccines” and  “New Advance Directives.”


The event is co-sponsored by Holy Name Medical Center and the Teaneck Health Department.

Yoga at the Teaneck Library


The Teaneck Public Library Friends and the Art of Living Foundation will host a free yoga and meditation class Mondays from 6 to 7 p.m. The program will held at the library auditorium and taught by Sujatha Nair from Art of Living.


FDU Festival


FDU’s Words and Music Festival, dubbed WAMFEST2013, will hold a “The Origins: A Conversation and Performance with Five-String Banjo Player Tony Trischka, Blue Highway’s Guitarist Tim Stafford, and Old-Time Bluegrass Mandolin Player Jesse McReynolds,” according to the festival website.


The event will from 7:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Wilson Auditorium at FDU’s Teaneck campus.
