Officials from the state's mosquito control department visited Bergen County's unit in Paramus to introduce a natural line of defense against mosquitoes and West Nile Virus.
PARAMUS - After a mild winter and a wet start to June, Bergen County has become a fertile breeding ground for tens of thousands of mosquitoes, just in time for summer. The state's Department of Environmental Protection's (NJDEP) Office of Mosquito Control Coordination has been working closely with Bergen County Mosquito Control in Paramus, sharing invaluable forms of mosquito control from insecticides to more natural methods, depending on the type of mosquito. May court appearance scheduled.
The son of Bergen County Executive Kathleen Donovan entered a not guilty plea Friday to drug charges stemming from an incident where he allegedly smoked marijuana with two teenage girls at the county executive’s home. Brendan Donovan, 20, waived a court appearance set for Tuesday and his Hackensack-based attorney, Robert Galantucci, entered the plea on his client’s behalf. according to a report on northjersey.com. Donovan was charged last week with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and being under the influence of marijuana. The arrest came after police got a call from Rutherford High School informing them that a female student had left school and appeared to be under the influence of drugs, authorities said. Police…
