CareOne purchased the historic mansion's $3.9 million mortgage during an auction on Friday afternoon
The "jewel of Oradell" was officially sold to CareOne on Friday afternoon following an uncontested bid on the Blauvelt Mansion's $3.9 million mortgage in Hackensack. CareOne and its subsidiary Blauvelt Associates,bought the mortgages of the 116-year-old housewith an uncontested bid of $100, according to a report on nj.com. The auction came after months of postponements beginning with Hurricane Sandy's wrath, Bergen County Sheriff Michael Saudino pushed the sales to December 2013 to allow residents time to recover from the storm. During the delay, the $1.9 million mortgage was increased to approximately $3.7 million following a recent assessment of the 4-acre property. ORADELL -- The new year was initially expected to bring a resolution to the fate of the Blauvelt Mansion's mortgage sale, but fate it seems is as fickle as ever. The two mortgages were scheduled to be sold on Jan. 4 but have now been pushed back two months in the fourth postponement. According to the Bergen County Sheriff's Office Foreclosure Sale Listings, the $3.7 million and $735,000 mortgages have been delayed until March 22 by lien holders First Choice Bank and Valley National Bank. The historic mansion, built in 1896 for Kimball Chase Atwood and later sold to Hiram Blauvelt, was initially scheduled for a mortgage sale in early November 2012 for a $1.9 million mortgage before the inclusion of a smaller $700,000 mortgage was added. …

ORADELL -- For the third time in two months, the Blauvelt Mansion's mortgage sale has yet again been postponed. The $3.7 million foreclosure sale was initially scheduled for this afternoon, but according to the Bergen County Sheriff's Office Foreclosure Sale Listings, the auction has now been rescheduled for January 4. The historic mansion's $1.9 million mortgage was initially scheduled for Nov. 9 but was then delayed one week to include a smaller $700,000 mortgage. But both sales were again pushed back to December by Sheriff Michael Saudino following the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. A combined $3.9 million mortgage sale for the Blauvelt Mansion is scheduled for Friday in Hackensack
ORADELL -- Initially suspended two weeks following Hurricane Sandy's aftermath, the Blauvelt Mansion's mortgage sale will now take place on Friday, 2pm in Hackensack as the two sales have been combined into one. The sale, which is now for approximately $3.9 million, follows a recent assessment of the 4-acre property and combines the previous $1.9 million and $700,000 sales which were scheduled for mid-November. While bidding is open to any interested party, CareOne had purchased the property in January 2011 and is considered the most likely candidate to buy out the remaining mortgage amount.
