Jack Antonoff, Bergen County Native, Wins Grammy

Fun. won the Grammy for "song of the year" for their hit "We Are Young."

New Milford native Jack Antonoff got some major recognition with his band Fun. when they won the Grammy for song of the year Sunday, according to a report on NorthJersey.com. Fun. won the Grammy for their hit song We Are Young, which peaked at number one on the "Billboard Hot 100" list and has been featured on both the popular T.V. show Glee and a Chevy Super Bowl commercial. The band wasnominated for a total of six different awards. Antonoff is current Woodcliff Lake resident who previously lived in New Milford and attended Solomon Schechter and public schools, according to the NorthJersey.com report. One year ago this month, the cast of the hit television show “Glee” performed “We Are Young,” a triumphant duet by the then-widely unknown New York indie-pop trio Fun. and rhythm-and-blues singer Janelle Monáe. Fast forward to this December. Fun., which includes guitarist and Woodcliff Lake and New Milford native Jack Antonoff, has been nominated for a whopping six Grammy Awards: Record of the Year and Song of the Year (“We Are Young”), Album of the Year (“Some Nights”), Best New Artist, Best Pop Duo/Group performance and Best Pop Vocal Album.
