Queens Man Sentenced For Charges Stemming From Teaneck Killings

Two men were found fatally shot in Teaneck three years ago

A Queens nightclub owner was sentenced Friday to 13 years in prison for a drug conspiracy that left two men shot to death on a street in Teaneck three years ago, NorthJersey.com reported.  Nicholas Kiriakakis, 29, must serve 6 1/2 years of the sentence before being eligible for parole. Superior Court Judge Liliana De-Avila Silebi sentenced Kiriakakis to eight years for a conspiracy charge and another five years on a hindering apprehension charge.  Prosecutors had charged with Kiriakakis with the February 2010 murder of Michael Mirasola, 27 and Jonathan Beneduce, 28, both of Queens. Queens Man Acquitted in Teaneck Double Murder

New York nightclub owner convicted on lesser charges, report says.

A Bergen County jury on Thursday acquitted a Queens man on charges he killed two men on a street in Teaneck, but convicted him on drug distribution conspiracy and hindering apprehension charges, northjersey.com reported. Prosecutors alleged Nicholas Kiriakakis, a 27-year-old nightclub owner, fatally shot Michael Mirasola and Jonathan Beneduce on Oakdene Avenue Feb. 17, 2010. The three were allegedly involved in a deal to buy drugs using counterfeit money. Although Kiriakakis had collected thousands from the two men, he was unable to make the deal happen and instead shot the pair, prosecutors alleged. Prosecutor Alleges Counterfeit Money Scheme in Teaneck Murders

Motive in double-shooting remains unclear.

The Queens nightclub owned accused in the shooting deaths of two men in Teaneck ran a scheme to buy counterfeit money and use it to purchase and resell cocaine, a prosecutor said in opening arguments Tuesday, northjersey.com reported. Nicholas Kiriakakis, 27, used Michael Mirasola and Jonathan Beneduce as unknowing investors in the scam, Assistant Bergen County Prosecutor Wayne Mello said in court. Kiriakakis allegedly fatally shot the two men on Oakdene Avenue in Teaneck in February 2010. Prosecutors did not detail a specific motive in the killings, according to the report. Teaneck Double Murder Trial Set to Open

A Queens man is accused of gunning down two men on a street in Teaneck nearly three years ago.

Opening arguments in the trial of a New York City lounge owner accused of killing two men on Oakdene Avenue in Teaneck are set to begin Tuesday in Superior Court in Hackensack, northjersey.com reported. Queens nightclub owner Nicholas Kiriakakis, 28, is charged with fatally shooting Michael Mirasola and Jonathan Beneduce Feb. 18, 2010 in what prosecutors have called drug-related killings. Mirasola and Beneduce drove to Teaneck in a 2007 Ford Explorer as Kiriakakis followed, prosecutors have said. He allegedly shot his two friends and fled.
