Eatery Brings Taste of Colombia to Teaneck Road

New cafe features array of fresh food with coffee roasting station planned, owner says.

The handmade cornmeal patties, known as arepas, popular in many South American countries can now be found on Teaneck Road at Coffeecol Arepa Bar & Grill. Owners, Leo Gonzalez and Olga Carvagal, opened Coffeecol Arepa Bar & Grill in November with hopes of bringing a taste of Colombia to what Gonzalez described as the already ethnically diverse town of Teaneck. Coffeecol is striving to make their restaurant “a home, away from home,” as their menu exclaims, through a friendly environment, fresh food made on the premises and a roasting station where Coffeecol blend Colombian, Guatemalan and Brazilian coffee will be made fresh, starting in February, according to Gonzalez.  Coffeecol has plans to have videos playing throughout the restaurant …
