State Assemblyman Robert Schroeder wrote almost $400,000 in bad checks, according to the state attorney general.
New Jersey State Assemblyman Robert Schroeder was charged Friday with writing almost $400,000 worth of bogus checks, according to a press release from the state attorney general's office. Schroeder allegedly wrote the checks to people who invested in his Hillsdale-based company, All Points International Distributors. The company manufactures pre-fabricated structures. Most of the company's business has been with the federal government, according to the press release. Schroeder said he wrote two checks totalling about $100,000 because he believed the U.S. Army had wired him money owed for a contract, according to a report on NorthJersey.com. Assemblyman Robert Schroeder sponsors bill requiring emblem on buildings where solar panels are attached to the roof to protect firefighters from electrocution.
With an increasing number of buildings investing in alternative energy, emergency responders are often unable to immediately identify structures that have installed solar panels on their roofs — putting them at risk of electrocution in the event of a fire. In an effort to protect firefighters against the danger of electrocution posed by solar panels, Assemblyman Robert Schroeder (R-Woodcliff Lake), a volunteer firefighter in the Township of Washington since 1980 who has twice served as fire chief, has sponsored a bill that would require buildings to clearly label with an exterior emblem whether they have solar panels. Possibility of parole for 1976 murderer of Kim Montelaro opens old wounds for her family.
A man who raped and murdered a New Milford woman in 1976 is up for parole for the fifth time since, and her family is asking the public's help to once again make sure he doesn't become a free man. Christopher Righetti is eligible for parole on April 16, nearly 36 years after he killed Kim Montalero, a 20-year-old college student who he kidnapped from the Paramus Park Mall on Aug. 31, 1976 and stabbed to death in a secluded area of the Pine Lake Swim Club in Washington Township. "He should have been executed when this happened, when he murdered our daughter," said Kim's father, Tony Montelaro. "He'll do it again. ...
