Man Faces Attempted Murder Charge in Englewood Attack
Quick action by police officers credited with saving bleeding man's life
An Englewood man faces an attempted murder charge after he attacked another city man in a bloody fight near West Englewood Avenue and Lafayette Place, leaving him hospitalized with serious injuries Thursday, authorities said. Derrick Rose, 53, and the 54-year-old victim were arguing when Rose struck him in the head with a pipe, according to Police Chief Arthur O'Keefe. The victim managed to disarm his attacker of the pipe, but Rose pulled a large folding knife and stabbed the man in the neck and throat twice before stabbing him again in the face, O'Keefe said. The wounded man continued to fight back, eventually stumbling away and collapsing. Englewood police quickly converged on the area following several 911 calls around 4:30 p.m. and …

I can't believe how stupid! Two comments "I hope no one got hurt". The guy gets stabbed in the face, beat up, stabbed in a neck artery, and loses almost all his blood.I think there is a clue there.   more ›
