Gang Member Hid 100 Heroin Bags in His Anus, Police Say
Alleged Bloods gang member charged after highway traffic stop
A traffic stop on the Palisades Interstate Parkway Thursday led police to the arrest of a gang member with 100 bags of heroin concealed in his anus, authorities said. Palisades Interstate Parkway Police Sgt. Kley Peralta and Officer Mark Torsiello stopped a 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer near Exit 4 in Alpine for having unclear license plates and an obstructed view, Lt. Michael J. Coppola said in a statement. The officers smelled an odor of burnt marijuana and were given consent to search the car, but found nothing. The driver, 32-year-old Bloods gang member Rasoul H. Speight and his passenger, Gary T. Sylak, were taken into custody after records revealed they had outstanding traffic warrants, Coppola said.
