Tractor-Trailer Flips on Ramp to Route 80, Snarls Traffic

Fuel leaking from overturned truck, officials say.

A tractor-trailer truck hauling blueberries overturned on the ramp to Route 80 West from I-95 in Teaneck Wednesday afternoon, snarling traffic during the busy rush hour commute. 

State police did not report any injuries in the single-vehicle accident. The rollover was first reported around 2 p.m. and officials blocked the ramp to Route 80's local lanes until Wednesday night. 

A 1 1/2 mile delay was reported on the New Jersey Turnpike's northbound lanes approaching the scene by around 4 p.m., according to the Turnpike Authority website.

The truck was leaking fuel and the county's hazardous materials unit was alerted, authorities said. Emergency crews, including the , were also called to the scene. Crews had to unload the blueberries before the truck could be uprighted. A health official also had to respond.
